i actually really do enjoy the way martin writes dialogue. i have my complaints, but his books are good! my main gripe is simply the length; i felt clash of kings should have been maybe half its size, if at all its own book. and apparently it’s a recurring problem, because i’ve heard the first half of a feast for crows is p boring. asoiaf was originally planned as a trilogy, and at times i feel it suffers for the extended length (see: robert jordan and wheel of time). keep in mind that i’ve only read the first two novels of the series, so.
let me tell you though game of thrones was like rly good, and i hear a storm of swords is totally the shit f’realz.
i tend to be picky about the books i buy for myself, so no i wouldn’t buy the rest of the series. but if you like fantasy novels or just like to read, it’s definitely worth borrowing/pirating/checking out from the library. you could be a cool kid and talk about books with me and torie :o
